Hi, I’m Tigist Taylor
Plato once said “The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world.” When one is suffering or in pain, it is important to feel seen and heard. Struggling with obsessive behaviors or destructive thought patterns? Perhaps severe anxiety and panic attacks feel debilitating. Does a past or recent traumatic event feel unbearable? Do you often feel worthless and "never good enough?" You are not alone and there is help! I offered non-judgmental, compassionate, and authentic support. I believe people should be seen and validated in their truest selves. It is an honor to be entrusted by others to be with them on their journey of hurt, shame, sadness, joy and to be invited into the intimate world of their thoughts, fears, feelings, and dreams.
I provide helpful skills to manage depression, anxiety, trauma, and OCD. Learn strategies to reduce canceling plans last minute because of panic. Use helpful grounding skills to deal with trauma flashbacks and dissociation. Let's increase energy and motivation when stuck in depression.
It takes tremendous courage to come to therapy and devote yourself to introspection and growth. My intention in working with you is to promote self-understanding and concrete skill-building. It is important to own your agency and trust your resilience and move toward a compassionate self-narrative.
I received my M.A. in Counseling from Northwestern University and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) as well as a National Certified Counselor. While I utilize mostly evidenced-based therapies, I believe in a holistic approach that examines mind, body, and soul.
